The Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage, is a flexible, work-based qualification that is nationally recognised. This Apprenticeship deals with the movement and storage of goods, and is an essential part of logistics operations.

Who is the course aimed at?

People who work for a minimum of 16 hours per week and work in a warehousing and storage environment. As a Warehousing and Storage apprentice, you might learn skills in operating specialist machinery to get things onto – and down from – high storage spaces; learn about keeping some goods at low temperatures; and improve your spatial awareness, so that you can quickly and efficiently load objects of different shapes and sizes.

Benefits of the course…

You will cover aspects including the operation of specialist machinery, specific storage requirements and health and safety issues. This is on top of transferable skills in communication, teamwork and administrative skills in the working environment.

Your duties will depend on your employer, but you could manage stock; audit inventory; keep equipment in good working order; process returned goods; or manage the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods. You might even learn how to maintain the safety of hazardous goods and materials.

Good teamwork is important when you’re working to a tight schedule, such as loading or unloading a lorry that can only wait for a little while before it needs to go on to the next job.

Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage

We deliver nationally recognised qualifications that are work based and assess the skills and knowledge warehousing employees need to perform their job roles effectively. As employers, you will gain heaps of benefits from your employees gaining a qualification in Warehousing and Storage.

This is a flexible, work-based qualification that is nationally recognised. This apprenticeship is suitable for those currently employed in this sector or looking to secure employment within this sector as a Team Leader or Senior Team Leader. In addition to normal warehouse operation activities, these roles also have the responsibility for overseeing the correct selection and packing of customer orders, ensuring the team complete these tasks on time ready for despatch.

Who is the course aimed at?

People who work for a minimum of 16 hours per week working as a supervisor or team leader.

You will cover leading and managing a team, project management and customer service. This is on top of transferable skills in communication, teamwork and administrative skills in the working environment.

Mandatory Units

  • Contribute to the provision of customer service in logistics operations
  • Provide leadership for your team in logistics operations
  • Supervise the receipt, storage or dispatch of goods
  • Take responsibility for Health, Safety and Security in your team

Job prospects

  • Warehouse Manager; Transport Manager.
  • After further training and development for those who choose to do so: Foundation degree in logistics, transport planning, logistics operations and administration.
